Our Story
"Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.
Your people will be my people and your God my God."

- Ruth 1:16 -
Against the odds and thanks to a Hinge match, we first met in Athens, Georgia. Jake’s opening line was a simple “I like your dog” in response to a photo of me holding my beloved fluffy pup, Logan. Our first date was over Bruster's ice cream on November 18, 2020, and from the start, we both knew this was something special. Later, over waffles and hashbrowns at Waffle House, a place that quickly became ours, we decided to make it official.
At the time, Jake was in his final year at the University of Georgia and preparing to begin medical school in Tampa. I was then a third year at UGA and remained in Athens until graduation before making the move to New York City to pursue my dance career. Though we spent years many miles apart, our bond never wavered. Through FaceTime calls, weekend visits, and countless flights, drives, ferry rides, and train rides, we remained each other’s biggest supporters and very best friends.
On April 27th, 2025, Jake proposed in front of the Morgan Library in New York, a place that was filled with special meaning to us. Years earlier, he had visited the city with my family and asked to stop at the library, for it was his one must see spot. As God's plan would have it, my NYC apartment overlooked those very steps--getting engaged there brought our journey full circle and was truly a God wink!
Just days later, Jake graduated from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and matched in Psychiatry back home in Georgia. Soon after, I returned to the south to be with my person, my home. Together, we're stepping into a new chapter and are so excited to become one on May 30th, 2026 surrounded by all of our loved ones!
